One of the questions on the newest GenCon survey ask for what I look for in a hotel. Missing from the list is my answer so I typed in the "Other" bar:

PRICE! Every hundred dollars I save on the hotel is another hundred dollars I can spend at GenCon! And yes, it is nice to be within walking distance but I also enjoy the drive back to the hotel room. Even with parking at Gate Ten, I still spend about half of what others spend and I can have the entire hotel room to myself.
